From Rome (139.8 km) or Grosseto (52.3 km), you can reach Capalbio traveling along the Aurelia state road or along the 223 Paganico state road (also known as Siena – Grosseto).
In Capalbio there is a train station, from which, once arrived, you can move by e-bike, taxi or bus (line 120/ 400). The Capalbio station has a single track on which regional trains run to Pisa, Livorno, Grosseto, Civitavecchia and Rome, trains stop here every 30 minutes. The Capalbio railway station does not have a ticket office nor a ticket machine. Outside there is a car parking.
The Tuscan bus company Autolinee Tiemme S.P.A. runs extra-urban routes throughout the region, connecting Capalbio to the main Tuscan municipalities. If you come from a large city such as Rome, we recommend to use the Flixbus company, whose closest stop to Capalbio is Orbetello.
The nearest airport to Capalbio is Grosseto Civil Airport, part of the Seam Group (Società Esercizio Aeroporto Maremma). Alternatively, the second closest airport to Capalbio is Rome Fiumicino (120 km). Once landed, take the Fiumicino-Rome motorway, then continue to the A12 Roma-Civitavecchia [E80] exit and follow the signs. Also, from the airports of Florence (Amerigo Vespucci) and Pisa (Galileo Galilei) it is possible to reach Capalbio, despite being further away (220 km).
