In Monteverro, nature plays the main role, so the estate was built according to an architecture that can integrate as much as possible with the landscape and not dominate it. Even the cellar was conceived to allow the most natural and respectful processing of grapes and wine.
The farm extends for around 60 hectares of which only 35 have been planted with vine, while the rest is covered with olive trees and Mediterranean scrub. This is also home to a variety of animals, in which the undisputed king is the wild boar, the same animal to which Monteverro owes its name: historically, “boar” was the word used in this region to indicate the wild boar, a sign that the scrub surrounding the small town of Capalbio has always been (and still is) home to many wild boars.
The estate produces: two white wines, Vermentino and Chardonnay, four reds, Verruzzo, Terra di Monteverro, Tinata, and Monteverro, and also grappa and olive oil.
It is also possible to make guided tours, where you can walk in the vineyards, visit the winery and take part to a tasting. Visits are possible only by reservation and a direct booking is available on the official website of the estate.
