Spring in Capalbio

Capalbio is also suitable to welcome you in spring, especially during the Easter holidays. This period is perfect to start the first outdoor activities, enjoying the nature that surrounds you. Capalbio in spring is the perfect place to spend a day by the sea: walking on the soft sand barefoot is a truly relaxing experience. But what makes the coast of Capalbio even more special in spring is the possibility of taking long rides on the beach. Excursions do not stop here! The upper area of Capalbio, located on the hilltop, is worth a visit. Strolling through the narrow alleys and stone houses is a one-of-a-kind experience and from the highest panoramic view point, admiring the wilderness below. The Tarot Garden, also open during this period of year, is a must to visit. The artistic park of Niki de Saint Phalle, is an enchanted kingdom gathering all the sculptures of the French artist, which represent the 22 tarot cards, made up of beautiful mirror mosaics, ceramics and glass.

 

Warmest temperatures are perfect for hiking activities at the Burano Lake Nature Reserve, a wildlife oasis protected by the WWF, where it is possible to admire numerous species of birds. Experts and volunteers of the WWF association will accompany you. Numerous initiatives are organized here in order to preserve the natural heritage and the awareness of people towards current environmental issues.

 

During the months of April and May Capalbio hosts many traditional events such as “Capalbio in Fiera” (Capalbio Festival), a country event dedicated to Maremma folklore and the goliardic spirit that characterizes its community. Get involved in this festive atmosphere where children are also welcome thanks to music and entertainment shows. The performances of “Butteri” (cowboys), the craft market and street food with many typical products of the Maremma region will amaze you and make you want to come back!
